A very good afternoon to all the members at Omega Forum!

I would firstly like to say a big thank you to the admins of Omega Forum for approving my membership. Secondly, I would like to say a big thank you to the forum members who provide input on this thread; I really appreciate your help!

With that out of the way, I am looking for some help on sourcing the correct parts for my Omega Seamaster De Ville.

I have done a quick search here (and around the web) without much success on finding the information that I need so I am now turning to you experts! I have recently acquired an Omega Seamaster De Ville, stainless steel, dateless, calibre 552. I have not been able to open up the watch but using the process of elimination with the info available, I am very sure the case reference is 165.0020.

The problem I have with this watch is that it has the wrong:
    1. crown and
    2. seconds-hand (may just consider replacing all hands) as well as
    3. a non-original replacement crystal, installed.

I am now looking to source these original Omega parts to replace these but I do not know the part numbers for each item so it’s rather difficult to find the correct ones for this specific model.

I have attached some photos below.

If anybody here has any advice or information, I would greatly appreciate it if you could chime in below.

Once again, thank you all for your help!
    Chris

    Welcome.

Looks a nice watch to me:thumbsup:

The first thing you need is to confirm the case reference and the only way to be sure is to have the watch opened - choose a watchmaker and have them do it. The best for you is that your watchmaker supplies the parts but, it depends on the relationship you have with them. I don't usually accept parts from a customer just in case they are faulty - then you could get into an argument about why it's faulty or if it was damaged and who did that damage. You can see that would lead to issues but others may accept parts anyway.

    Good luck, Chris

Thanks Chris! It is one of my “grail” watches. However, there must be something wrong with the movement. Despite moving fine and keeping excellent time, it produces this nasty grinding-feeling when you manually wind! So I’ve avoided doing this.

Just as you have suggested, I will actually be taking my watch to Michael Young in Hong Kong tomorrow since I am travelling that way. If it wasn’t for the replacement crystal, I would be able to have access to the movement :( either way, the movement deserves a good service.

And thanks for the advice and quick reply! I really appreciate it. :D

    Have a great day,
Chris (I feel like I’m writing a message to myself)

If it is case reference 165.0020, then you need crown ST43041 and glass PZ5072

I can help you with the crystal, but don't have the crown and second hand.

    Crown - 069ST42531

Thank you both for your replies! Michael has just been able to take my watch apart and has taken a photo of the caseback. Looks like I was wrong and it’s an Omega 14905 SC-62.

He says he has found an original crown for me, so now I’ll just be looking for the correct seconds hand and crystal. Would the seconds-hand part no. still be 066UZ1377? I would also probably replace the H/M hands too, so it doesn’t look as odd.

Where do you find this info? I always look on cousins using the case reference. What would be the diference for example between 066UZ1371 and 066UZ1377?
