Omega Seamaster ... ¿Cosmic?

Hello !
Long time ago I bought an omega Seamaster automatic from the 60s-70s at auction.
When I wanted to know more information about my watch, I was looking for but Im not able to find any watch as mine.
I think it's an Omega Seamaster Cosmic model but mine only says Seamaster and does not put anything about Cosmic.
Does anyone know the reason?
Maybe it's from the first SOP?
I attach a photo of the watch.
In the other side its written "166026-tool 107"
Thanks!

And that’s your information right there. 166.026 is indeed a Seamaster Cosmic - the reason yours doesn’t say so on the dial is because someone cleaned the dial of the original print, painted it white and wrote Omega Seamaster Automatic on it - it was “redialed”.

As mentioned above, the dial is not a factory Omega dial and has been repainted. The hands appear correct. If the watch is important to you, you may wish to contact Omega and inquire about a "service dial" for the watch in order to make it authentic. A watchmaker with access to Omega parts could then service the watch and fit the new dial. It will not be cheap.

Thanks for yours answers!!!
I'm not specialist in watches, but....
Do you mean that someone has reworked the dial painting it and writing again the "Seamaster" and "AUTOMATIC" words?
Is this action common? and I guess expensive... If so, it's a really very good work because there is absolutely no mark about any "redial" work and the logos are exactly the same.
Don't you think could be another reason?

And again, thanks for all your answers!!!

Exactly. It’s not uncommon, unfortunately, as to collectors it removes much of the originality and thus value.

It’s your watch and if you like it that’s all that matter. But since you mention it, allow me to be frank: To my eye, this is a rather unfortunate redial job that has nothing to do with the font and delicacy of the original. They didn’t even include the original model name. Many of us here have seen hundreds and thousands of dials and the eyes get trained over time. I’d say this is a redial that’s very easy to spot for the group of nerds here. 😀 Another clear indicator is the lack of “Swiss Made” at the 6 o clock position of the dial by the way.

Please don’t let this put you off of your watch though - in the wild (e.g. on your wrist, wearing it every day), nobody will ever notice.

There is a very good thread here dealing specifically with redials. Do a search and have a look. I’m just a collector who enjoys watches I’m very far from an expert and I don’t posses the knowledge many here do but I can tell you In all honesty it doesn’t take a lot of time to gain the knowledge to pick out redials vs originals.
