Hi all,for today i have a big question in my mind.Last days i saw a beautiful Omega Seamaster Cosmic with black dial,is very beautiful.I think to sell a watch from me to buy that Omega.But i don't know this model,i can't find enough information about that .I think is authentic in all parts,seller guaranted authenticity.I will put some pics here because is an amazin g shape and i wanna share with all that beauty.And,maybe somebody knows more about that Omega.Thanks to all.(sorry for my bad english)

 

I believe the 2000 was a later edition of the original Cosmics that are generally more popular and seem to fetch more money. I have an earlier Seamaster Cosmic from 1966 with a manual wind Cal 601 movement and looks very different. Thanks,you have right,calibre 1012 ,i think from 1972.Is in a beautiful condition,have app 39 mm ? without crown ,good for that days.

 

This one appears to be in clean condition. If you look after it I think it should last you for many years and lots of people like the Seamaster Cosmic so I don't think it would be hard to sell at a later date if you wanted. Take a look at the earlier models though just to learn more about the history of the Cosmics.

 

I have a earlier Omega,but Constellation(168.004),no a Seamaster Cosmic.If i sell my Longines Chrono or Picot,i will buy Seamaster Cosmic.I like that Omega model but is not so cheap.

 

If the price is not so good I would be patient and look around for an alternative, especially because the Constellation is such a beautiful watch and I don't think the Cosmic will be in the same class.

Your Constellation with a Cal 561 is from the golden era when Omega were making really fantastic watches and the Constellations were the best of the lot. In all honesty I would rather have a mid 60s Constellation than any Rolex from that period and various watchmakers have told me that Omega were better than Rolex from that time or even today.

I have a few Omegas from the 70s and they never seem to have the same quality feel as the watches from the 60s plus they were using cheaper movements because they were in big trouble with the quartz competition. I really concentrate on watches from the mid 1960s now and will only look at early 70s if the price is right. Anything from the mid 70s or later is best avoided unless it's a really great deal.

If you like this Cosmic more than the Longines and are willing to pay the extra that is all that matters. I don't really know anything about your Longines. I always thought the Cosmic was a reference to Omega's presence in space so the diving connection seems strange but perhaps yes rare.

 

Yes,you have right.Omega Constellation was better than Rolex.Today i bought another rar Omega,cal T17,art deco.Movement is good bad case and dial need some work.I will put pics with him after i recieve it.
