Hello I recently bought an Omega Cosmic without much info on the piece. I hope you will educate me on this one : My research led me to ST166.026 or 166.036 but I could not find the exact reference in AJTT There should be an engraving at the back, which this one does not have. Thanks for your help folks !
The engraving on the back has been removed most likely due to the "polishing-to-death" sales technique, performed to get a shiny watch easier to sell to those who do not know how an original omega looks like. Do a google search and look at the pics you'll find. Otherwise, the dial looks nice and original. No comments on the movement because there are no pics.
Hello There, Yours should be a ST166.036 and require Tool 107 to remove the movement. I just sold my Cosmic to help fund a 3rd Generation Omega Dynamic. Mine was the exact same as your is except mine had English for the day wheel language and has the Seamaster logo and writing on the back intact. Though yours looks to be in much better condition then mine and has the correct crown. Here are some pics of my now (as of last Wed) departed Cosmic
Thank you very much for the info ! very useful! Hands seems different, mines do have tritium as yours do not. May I ask how much did you sell it ? PM if you prefer. Thanks
