I have a Omega Seamaster Calendar with reference 2849 11C and need some guidence. At first sight the dial and hands looks ok, but the crown is not correct. Is the four leaf Omega crown right for this reference?

The calibre is 503 automatic movement and have serialnumber 17171292. How do I find out when this watch was manufactured?

I have seen Omega Seamaster Calendar with small og large hippocampus. Is the hippocampus used in different sizes depending on year/model?

Have a search on Google for "Omega Serial Numbers" and a chart should appear from numerous sources - it is more or less correct. Both large and small hippocampus on the caseback is correct for these... Cloverleaf crown is correct, yes

 

Thank you. Looks like 1960ish then, and will replace the crown with a cloverleaf crown.
