hi, I'm contemplating purchasing the following watch but not entirely sure as ideally I'd like a Connie or a seamaster cal 564. I would greatly appreciate your comments? Beautiful Omega Seamaster Calibre 1022 day date Automatic Watch Swiss Made for Men Circa 1970 Guaranteed Original Omega Watch All Stainless Steel Size 36mm x 42mm Thickness: 12mm Original Omega Dial Restored in White Original Stainless Steel Bracelet for 20cm wrist (8 inches) and included new leather band and stainless steel Omega buckle New Leather Band Acrylic vintage omega crystal Serial Number available on request automatic Swiss Precision Omega movement calibre 1022 This watch is in excellent condition without any damage It is original and will become a perfect vintage collectible treasure
Firstly, if you want a Connie, get a Connie. Don't get sidetracked by this: it'll take you further from your goal than you are now. Secondly, I suspect a redial, which is something I personally strongly dislike.
Hari Welcome on board +1 on the comment above You obviously want a vintage chronometer And from your post not a day date watch like this one Chrono Seamasters are relatively rare beasties but there a lots of Connies in different styles You also seem to like plain (dome) dials - so you might get a better deal on a Connie (than a pie-pan ) Don't dismiss 561s if you want a date watch (I HAD to have a 564 to start with but you soon get over that) Go with your heart and wait to find a nice Connie - you won't regret it ! (But your bank balance will when you get the urge to buy the next one...) Best of luck and post your targets for advice
Hi, you are absolutely right that I want chrono seamaster and indeed they incredibly difficult to come by so I'm happy to get any other seamaster until I find my perfect chrono seamaster, I do like the above watch as it is a seamaster automatic and really do like the look of this and the seller guarantees me that it is not a redial hence my interest towards this watch but I'm not too familiar with this movement hence I would like your opinions. The two are very different in style Check out a 564 168.010 Connie I'm wearing one right now I don't follow Seamasters but the lugs on the second look to have lost their edges
Found one: Omega Constellation Calibre 564 Automatic Swiss Made watch for Men Circa 1960 How much shouldn't expect to pay for this?
speedy hunting should start a new thread though.... can't be 1960 -too early for either a 564 or 168.010 mid 60's onwards look at this site: http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.co.uk all too too shiny -bezel and upper lugs have lost their edges hands are replacements -wrong style and have lume slots rotor and movt different colours so may have been replaced (rotor) cost is always difficult --if you are going retail you will pay through the nose -like up to X2 search Ebay for sold items to get a general market price this is what a good SS version case should look like
