Hi all, I came across an ad for a vintage Omega Seamaster that appears to be in nice shape. The dial features red crosshair lines, something I have yet to see on these models. Hoping someone could provide some insight as to whether this suggests a redial. The dial itself appears to be genuine based on the font and everything appears to line up properly. Any and all feedback would be appreciated. Cheers
The dial could be original. These 'technic' Seamaster/Geneves had a Red Cross hair which unlike the earlier ones was broken around the text. I haven't seen this particular configuration before, but looks decent enough to me. Here's mine
This is only true on older Omegas with crosshairs; there are numerous others, mostly late 60's or 70's dials where the crosshairs are broken. The shape of the markers is certainly fitting for that era too.
I’ve finally had a chance to snap a few pics of the watch. I’m glad I pulled the trigger on this one - it’s a beauty. Thanks again to all who provided feedback.
I don’t really know what you mean by ‘on the dial’ but the few small specks seen were on the crystal, not the dial.
