I literally just purchased this.. probably lost my shirt ..can anyone give me any info? I hate to be this guy, but, is this rare? Loose value? I probably should have asked first , didn’t want to watch it walk away. Thanks in advanced
340 Canadian for each, or both together? EDIT - the time is off by 17 seconds. Amateur. Just kidding! .....sort of.
This is why I should ask before I buy , it’s not a jumbo as it was sold to me haha the pair cost a whopping 490 cad...
Lucky Bast..., I'm afraid you may have done quite well and screwed all the "ask first, buy second" cadre right in the sphincter.
Once in a blue moon it’s not to good to be true. I’m going to try and stay away from the toilet, I don’t want the horseshoe to fall out.
Note the slight difference in the two S shapes / fonts of Seamaster. Both are correct for the period.
More than just happy - the dude scored! While not up to the level of the famous $2 Patek or the LeCoultre / Good Will finds, this is a nice deal for the OP and possibly the unguided n00b score of the year. He could sell one for the price he paid for both and wear the other for free!
Wow - you were lucky! The watch with the black dial may need a set of shorter hands, if I am not mistaken. What does the experts say?
I am by no means an expert, but minute and second hand are indeed too long. Considering the bargain price thats not a big deal though...
The hands are too long but they still might be original to the watch, depending on who cased it. It is not uncommon for the minute hand on British Dennison-cased watches to overlap the minute markers, most notably on early Geneves of which several such examples are dotted about on this forum. They don't seem to have considered hand length a big deal. I don't know whether this applies to other nations' cases. However the hands do seem a slightly different colour to the dial furniture and the second hand is a different degree of "too long", but it's a lovely watch regardless and a bargain, good score!
