I need to identify the year of this watch, problem is serial number doesn't match with model year. From what I have read Aqua Terra's were introduced in 2003. The case serial number (57883XXX) falls in a 1998 serial number date range. Is there a different serialization for Aqua Terra's? Here are a few pics.

    Thanks. Omega2.JPG Omega3.JPG Omega4.JPG Omega5.JPG Omega7.JPG

Did you ever figure out what was going on with your serial number? I just picked up a quartz Aqua Terra with a 59000xxx serial number. I bought from a reputable dealer, but it's distressing when you realize the SN dates it 5 years before Aqua Terra's were launched.

    Serial number: 59000192
    Article ref: 25188000

Watch seems legit. I would take the serial number lists you find on the internet with a grain of salt...

I’ve encountered a similar discrepancy with Omega De Ville’s. I have one which a case ref which dates from 1994, with a 1109 calibre movement (which matches the model) and was released in 1993 ... but the serial number on the movement supposedly dates from the mid 80’s.

I’ve looked for other examples of the Watch and 1109 movements to compare. They all seem to have serial numbers in the mid 49 million range. This is consistent with mine - but supposedly dates from 1985/6, which is 8 years before the movement was released.
