Omega Seamaster 300m - Too Big?

Have you taken a look at the Planet Ocean in 39.5mm? Technically the better diver and in my opinion also a much more suitable size for you.
In my opinion the 39.5mm PO has terrible proportions. The bezel measures 38mm but it's very thick. I've tried it and it looks like a turtle sitting on my wrist. Too top heavy.

OP - by modern standards the watch looks fine. The lugs do not overhang your wrist. I guarantee that no one would think you are wearing an enormous watch.

But it really depends on what you think as you're the one who will be looking at it every day.

I'm very sorry, but I think it's far too big for your wrist, but I would say that about ninety percent of all users here. Watches shouldn't just sit up like a plate, the bracelets should nestle elegantly around the arm and not just hang down at the sides.

That's just my opinion. You asked for it. But in the end, you should wear what you like.
Would agree on a different watch style, dress, typical 3 hander (GADA) but divers (nowdays) typical wear larger than an everyday watch. Plus style have changed, with a much more relaxed attire now, which allows for a sportier style watch.

Many moons ago, a sales assistant once told me a watch & it’s bracelet (perfect fit) should show 1 to 2cms of bracelet on top of the wrist.

And then you have watches like the Aventurine dial Speedmaster moonphase- very modern, very big, not a dress watch or tool watch or sport watch, kinda a dressy-sport combo. And frankly, many things from AP fit this "dressy-sport" style.

It's fine if you want to wear a 36mm dress watch, but tastes have definitely grown (perhaps not changed, and that's good) to include some very fun pieces.

It looks pretty big to me. Personally, I don't enjoy wearing such bulky watches. Maybe you can try to find something more proportionate with your wrist, so you have an actual comparison to make.

Hi all,

Looking at pulling the trigger on a Seamaster 300, love the piece. I have smaller wrists and the salesperson of course told me it doesn’t look too big but looking for more objective opinions.

Thank you!

Pulled the trigger! Thanks everyone for your kind and constructive comments. I really appreciated the candidness and time you all took to provide feedback.

How can you guarantee the opinions of others? That is ridiculous.
But it really depends on what you think as you're the one who will be looking at it every day.
However, I agree with this statement!

In the watch world, there is a lot more between 36mm and 42mm than this example suggests.

I can only agree with that, he expressed it well and that's exactly what I mean.

I then went on to buy a Panerai & had a U Boat at the time, so I didn’t listen to his advice ha.

But have found now, for a sports watch 39-42mm my max but does depend on the L2L (find my BB58 wears like a dream). But I also own and wear a BB36 as my smart attire watch.

I would say it looks big to me, but if you dig it, go for it. You can always sell it if you decide you don’t like it.

I generally prefer watches 40mm and under so I have a bit of a bias towards smaller anyway.

I have small wrists as well and I was worried about the same thing, but on the rubber strap the watch looks perfect. My wife said the size is appropriate for the type of watch that it is. its one of my favorite daily driver pieces. I recently let it go to get the 395mm planet ocean summer blue and I really miss it...I am really thinking about adding the new bronze gold on black rubber. One last thing, just an FYI, I wore mine on the pin buckle and much preferred it over the deployment clasp
