Hi,

I've been offered this watch (2298.80.00) for £1450, bartered down from £2250 they originally had it up for.

This is my first Omega so I'm after some advice on firstly whether this is a good price, and secondly, is this watch decent, any known issues?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Sorry for the delay, the jewellers were closed this morning. Attached is a photo.

Also found out it's the 178.0514 and not the 2298.80 as I assumed.
Thanks,

Just to clarify, a number like 22988000 is the reference number of the watch, and this number gives all the details about the watch, from the dial colour, to the bracelet used, etc.. The 178.0514 is just the case number - a partial case number to be more accurate, as the entire case number is not stamped inside the case back usually.

So the full case number for a 22988000 would be 055TI1780514 for example. This however is not a 22988000, as that is a titanium watch and bracelet - that is what the "TI" in the case number stands for.

Given the stainless steel case and blue anodized bezel, this would be a 25998000. The full case number would be 055SU1780514.

Cheers, Al

Hi,

Yes assumed the service. There's an Omega service centre

Thank you for the information. That's good to know.

You may not know, but is £1400 ($1600) a good price for a 25998000 from 2005? I've had a look on Chrono24 and it looks OK to me.
