Please say hello/ introduce yourself. Members here are very friendly to friendly newcomers who are interested in learning. there are quite a few OF members with expertise in military-issues Seamasters (I am not one of them, though). Chances are some will request you have the case opened and provide photos of the inside face of the caseback as well as photos of the movement.

Maybe tell us more about your grandfather so we can put the watch into context that way too? And ya, need more pictures...

Well...if this isn't bullshit, you are holding a $30-50k+ watch.

What you have appears to be a legit (MOD) Royal Navy issued Seamaster 300 from 1970.
Do not let just anyone open the case back in case they scratch that lovely engraving.
    Have a read of this for a start;
    https://omegaforums.net/threads/royal-navy-seamaster-300.48191/
Below is mine, a very close relative, same issue year, 11 from your grandfather's issue number.
Where are you in the world? I guess the UK but where?
Many UK members here, including myself.

Nice to see these two examples! Even the hands and the dial have aged in a very similar way.
It seems to be a military issued no date big arrow 300. Extremely rare and very valuable nowadays. There are many members here who can offer a lot of information.
Do not do anything hasty with it. Read first and then possibly have it serviced by an expert. Are you based in the Uk?

Extremely sought after watch - congratulations.
Hopefully you will not be swayed into selling - sentimental value doesn't have a price - although the big bucks can be pretty persuasive !

    What?!

I'm not a military watch expert, but that case back engraving looks like contemporary laser work to my eye.

Serial 2750x is a know range for RN300's produced in 69 and 70. So all good in my book, but get that extract from Omega.
It could be a late 69 production, like the 70 (MoD id 558) in the June Bonhams sale. That one is just 5 numbers away from your serial number. It is a 70 issued, but produced in september 1969.
Anyway, yours look really nice ... and correct IMO, also the caseback! (70 is different from 67-69). And it has one of the correct MoD bezels ... B6tBT

    Enjoy!

Wow, what a nice example.

I second everything kox said about it. Beside the sentimental value... if you don't need 50k bucks right now, just keep it. Its value will further raise for the next couple of years.
