Does Omega have any plans on releasing a Seamaster 300 Co-Axial master chronometer with the caliber 8913 movement in stainless steel?A Planet Ocean in a 41mm size with no date would be great also.It would compete with the new Submariner. My Planet Ocean 43.5 Master Chronometer has only lost 2seconds and has not gained or lost since.
The 300 master coaxial was released in 2014 so a refresh might be on the cards, personally I would leave it. I love the retro vibe the shape the faded lume and the fact its very close to the original release.
As far as I can tell the 8913 is the 8901 with a gold rotor and balance bridge. They only use it on precious metal pieces so doubt they would do it in stainless steel.
I read a long thread on another forum and it was all speculation. The 300mc fills the classic/heritage style dive watch vacated by the original 2500 Planet Ocean. I am of the mindset they should leave it alone or work at evolving the design rather than employing any of the big changes typically found the PO line. All that said, I have no idea how well the watch sells.
I wouldn't mind minor changes to the watch. Reduce the lug length slightly, reduce case thickness by 1.5mm maybe 2mm, and change the lug width to 20mm. Keep everything else the same.
I get annoyed every time I smush a 22mm strap into the 21mm lugs. I do not understand why they chose 21mm.
