saw that badly retouched beauty at a watch shop in Southern Thailand (they proper real watches here), and woukd like an opinion whether this seems real or smells fishy...

As others have said, fake. The three major tells: 1) stubbiest on the dial, 2) the uniform yellow color for the numbers and hash marks on the bezel, 3) the caseback (wrong number inside and sharp A in WATERPROOF).

Learning to look for these tells will help you see the majority of the fakes.

 

Also the inside of the caseback. The correct writing is 165.024, not 613288

 

Looks like they took a random Omega case back and glued it into the case back for this case...can't say I've seen that before.

Note the gap on one side...

 

If you go on ebay in various moments you can see others fake seamasters with the same caseback.

 

Well, I don't make a habit of looking on eBay for fake Seamasters...
