On vintage watches of course you want to keep it original as much as possible.
If you are going to wear your vintage pieces, all depends on the condition of the crystal. If there is a nick, or internal crack in it, I always tend to change it, to prevent the movement and tritium lume from any moisture... including new case back seal and new seals in the crown.
WR test to 3BAR is enough for regular wear then. Thats my way...
