    Hello omega fam,

I would like to add to my collection an omega seamaster 300 2nd generation ( 165.24/166.24) and i wonder what a fair price would be for a good example with bracelet included?
What things should i look for before buying it?

    Thank all for your advises!
    Good weekend.

Starting from EUR 6k in my opinion. More for a nice example.

I have seen prices from 6k to 16k and i think their prices are still not "solid" like the in the speedmasters...

    Actually, a 16X.024 could be considered a 3rd or 4th generation SM300. :D

    1st 2913
    2nd 14755
    3rd 165014

Is a big T really worth more than an early sm 300 non T?
How much would be a fair price for an early non T sm300 with its original bracelet?

    Thanks!

Yes, a big T is more sought-after by collectors.
Non big T, as I said, starts at around EUR 6k but depending on their conditions can go much higher.

In this crazy market the quality is paramount.

Do the date and no date carry the same value?

They do not. The no date models fetch higher prices.

Do your homework when buying an SM300, a lot of reproduction dials / redials out there. There are some excellent buyers guides available. I like this one:

    Good luck with your hunt!

Thanks, I have a 166.024. It seems that the 165.024 comes up for sale more often and is easier to watch price trends on. I wasn't sure if the date was about the same or less. Fair pricing on the SM300's seem tough to figure out with all of the inflated dealer prices and the very varying conditions of the private sales you see come up.

Great advice. That website you linked is an excellent resource. I got lucky when I bought mine. It was an impulse buy at a store. I had seen enough info here on OF to know it seemed legit, but used the website you linked to learn more after the fact. The info on there makes it much easier to spot the usual fakes you see out there.

Try with a 14755, is cheaper than the 2913:p
