Omega Seamaster 300 165.024 dial question

I am thinking abut buying this watch and having it restored (add a bezel insert and an original crown). I have been doing a ton of research on Omega Seamaster 300s and it looks like they are a lot of fakes out there. Just want to confirm my findings on this one.
I believe the case, case back, bezel and hands are original but i am not so sure about the dial. It looks like it may have been relumed at one point but I am not sure. Can someone let me know what they think about the dial in particular and the watch in general? I know it needs a lot of work

Project watches like this that need a lot of work often end up costing more that just buying a nice one to begin with. At a minimum this needs a dial, hands, bezel, crown and a service.

Can't be sure based on that. Can you post another dozen photos?

If you’re looking for opinions on the dial, we’ll need at least one picture that’s wel lit and in focus. Try taking a picture in indirect natural light, such as close to a window.

Dial was either repainted or is a poor fake. No telling if the movement is original to the watch given the condition as well.

I agree — poor redial at best. And look at that case gasket — it’s only good now. That watch has not seen a service in a long time. Unless you can get this super cheap (like under a $1000) it won’t be economical to restore, IMO. Unless you already have a bunch of parts laying around and can service it yourself.

I really can't opine about the dial based on those photos. It looks bad, but there are some very serious artifacts in the images. Without better photos, I would have to walk away.

That said, even if the dial is legit and just washed or relumed, I think I would walk away anyway, because there isn't a single part of the watch that is really worth restoring.
