    Hello,
I am posting because I've read that references of the Omega Seamaster 300, model 165.024 (the no date Seamaster) Big Triangle, does not exists for the civilian type, but do exist for the military type.

Is there anyone to confirm this assertion?

According to the Christie's Expert, Big Triangle civilian 165.024 Seamaster 300 do not exist (here ->
    http://www.christies.com/features/Omega-Seamaster-300-1966-Deconstructed-5897-1.aspx)
But according to this website, there is indeed civilian Big Triangle 165.024 (here-> http://thatwatchandmore.blogspot.fr/2013/03/buying-vintage-omega-seamaster-300.html)

Does anybody has any view on this contradicting point?

    Thanks for you answers.

I post photo of both military (with the "T") and civilian seamaster 300 "Big Triangle" for clearer view.

I think in the Christies reference, they state in "today's market" they're non existent. This isnt to say they never existed, but simply that they are very difficult to come by in original condition. Mine says hi!

This topic reminds me of the Ali G question posed to Buzz Aldrin (and I paraphrase; it has been a while since I pulled up the recording): "What do say to all the people who ask if the moon exists?"

And note the comment in that same text, just a few lines up: "But take note: 166.024s, like this one, were the only civilian Seamaster 300s available with the ‘Big Triangle’ dial (featuring a large triangle marker at 12 o’clock; it was also available with the standard Arabic numeral indicator at 12)." So obviously, he is not saying that the watch doesn't exist or wasn't made. Class is dismissed for the day.

I wouldnt take any auction house's research on Omegas to heart...plenty of info online They did release triangles in both 166.024 and 165.024 for general sale... The thing with some vintage sellers is that story telling is half the skill in selling. Can't tell you how many times I've been told like new, untouched, unpolished, all original, blah blah blah I've heard/seen...
