Hello everyone, I would like to present you my new and what it seems, uncommon Seamaster. Found it in Italy and thanks to @bardamu it safely arrived to me. I'm in love with this watch and overall appearance of pinkish dial and rose gold color of the case. Different lighting So here is what is known: - ref. 2996-1 - cal. 284 - 17.08 million serial number - original pink / salmon textured dial - rose gold plated case - different hands from other Seamaster/Ranchero - angeled caseback instead of flat but... found the same watch in a Facebook group and contacted the owner. He sent me pictures and we found that both watches have an identical pattern and literally every line on the dial is the same. Also, caseback and hands match. FB photo After consulting with a couple of distinguished members and Seachero/Ranchero collectors, everyone agrees that the watch is original but no one has ever seen it. Some think that Omega made it from leftovers and others think it is a some kind of special order. I'm thinking about getting extract but in the mean time, what are your thoughts? Cheers, Tom
The case looks like an GP Ranchero case. But the back is very odd, Never seen that on a 2996. These are the normal caseback for a 2996
Found another 2996-1 with angeled caseback and what also appears 17,08 mil serial. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-Gold...p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Just received Extract from Archives. Unfortunately it doesn't mention dial I've also found this 2996 with same caseback but different dial. Serial numbers are in 17.08 range like mine. https://www.chrono24.co.uk/omega/om...row---ck2996-1---with-extract--id21913250.htm
