·Hi all!
My dad recently found my grandfather's old omega watch in the attic. He took it to a clockmaker to get it repaired and gave it to me as a birthday present.
Now I'm really wondering what type of watch this is. The clockmaker said the caliber is 2937-2, but when I google those omega watches, I can't find anything that matches the one I have. I'm not a watch enthusiast, so I'm not really sure how this works anyways.
It doesn't say "omega" on the dial, like a lot of other watches with that caliber does. Could it be fake?
Also, I'm thinking of trying to get a clockmaker to clean the dial a bit, as it has some dirt/spots on it. Is this a smart idea? Is there a possibility of ruining the dial forever?
