Hi OF,
I've been looking to find a full gold Seamaster for a while now - especially with the Seahorse on the back I think they look really great. What would you say about the model below? The case seems polished and I believe the crown is not original. Any other big downsides?
Thanks for willing to help!

Yep quite heavily polished but it does look good. Those pics aren't quite hi res enough to be definitive but from what I see it is not a redial. I would give that watch box space, but if it is a good deal always comes down to asking price. I have a no date 2846 in similar case condition, gold is soft and often the sharp lug bevels are not quite as crips as they were originally.

x1 what @padders said and yes, the crown is incorrect. Should be a clover style. Possibly som slight damage to the dial around the 5/6 area, so I would want to see a hi-res dial image before I would pull the trigger.

what do you mean when you say 'give it box space'? (apologies, I tried googling it but couldn't find out)

Unfortunately the advertisement has been withdrawn - hope I didn't make the seller angry by posting it here!

I meant that I liked it enough to add it to my collection were the price right. No I didn't snatch it away from under your nose by the way! What was the asking price? I can't see any harm in posting it now.

Haha thanks! 2590 euros was the asking price. For me way too high, but I was thinking of offering 1800/1900. Feel free to tell me that is still too high..

Yes it was rather expensive, from a dealer your lower figure is maybe not a million miles off but in a private sale I would hope to get something like that for nearer €1000-1400 maybe. Bear in mind it is 14K gold not the higher value 18K. Of course dealers have to eat so will charge accordingly.

The ad is back online. I hope this new photo has better visibility - it shows indeed some marks on the dial around 12 and 6. Not very disturbing, but also not very clean.

These types of marks are magnified on pictures but less visible on wrist. For that asking price, which is way too high, crown should be correct, unpolished, and certainly 18k rather than 14k.

Like @padders says, around 50% of the asking price should make youhhappy
