Dear OF

After my recent spending splurge I have to get serious with my consolidation efforts.

Up for sale is a vintage Omega Seamaster 2577 with a chronometre movement which I bought here on OF last year. Though I'm not a big fan of gold-capped watches it had been one of my favorite watches until I found another near mint 2577 chronometre. So hopefully this one finds a new home.

Specifications and condition:
Model: Omega Seamster ref. 2577
Movement: Calibre 354, chronometre certified, the serial number dates the watch to approx. 1952. It was not serviced during my possession nor do I know the service history. It sets and winds well, but runs with a lag of 1-2 mins per day. A full service may be required before regular use.
Case: Gold cap over stainless steel. It's an honest case with signs of age such as dings and scratches here and there. It has probably seen a polish in the past. However, note that not all 2577 had sharp facets to begin with. The gold capping is largely in place with exception of the tip of the upper right lug (see picture). A competent gold smith could probably fix that easily. It never bothered me as it's not visible when you wear the watch.
Dial: It was the dial that attracted me the most to the watch, particularly the shapes of the hour markers and the textured minute track. The center part of the dial is slightly patinated, but less visible to the human eye than rendered by the sensor of my camera. The fact that there is no lume on the dial is also a plus in my book. The only flaw that I noticed while inspecting the watch under a loupe preparing it for sale is the fact that the right foot of the Omega logo is slightly raised up (see picture). I never noticed it when wearing it over the course of several months.
Crown: It came with a rather worn crown. @MtV was generous enough to provide me with an original gold plated clover crown with a flat foot logo.
Crystal: Generic, with some scratches.
Measurements: 34mm in diameter without crown, 42mm lug to lug, lug width 18mm
Accessories: I'm happy to leave the light brown leather strap on the watch. I'm also including the gold plated vintage Omega buckle currently on the strap. It's not period correct, but still looks nice with the watch IMO.

Price: I'm asking €1050 (used to be €1100) or the equivalent amount in CHF or USD, which is less than what I paid to get the watch into my hands plus the crown and the buckle. I think the price is fair given that a similar example recently sold on eBay for over USD 1500.

Payment through Wise is preferred, or otherwise bank transfer. The watch and I are located in Switzerland.

Free delivery within Switzerland, add €30-80 on top for insured international shipment depending on your location.
No returns unless grossly misrepresented.

My SO now believes / thinks she might perhaps want it :cautious:. So until we‘re through that decision process, it‘s withdrawn. Of course it‘s my fault because I could have asked her first before spending the time taking the pictures and writing the post. On the positive note, I now got her into vintage watches :D

And back on the market, as my wife will get another watch thanks to @LesXL :D
Glad I could prevent a divorce :D

Sooooo... My original comment is still valid, lovely watch, charming patina and dial that you don't see often. Of course, the feeling of the bumper on wrist is ::psy::

GLWS!
