    Hi,

    got offered this nice Seamaster:

    20180611-IMG_6596-1.jpg

It is from the year 2000 and fron the original first owner. Price is at € 1850,00. Including Box and papers. What do you think about it? Beside there is a little ding at the clasp, i wonder about the "1" in the date. Other 2254.50.00 i've seen just have "I" as the one, here it is a "1".

    Thank you for advice

perhaps @sjg22 can comment, he found one recently and he is probably more in tune with the current market/asking prices of these...

That one looks nice. I’ve seen them as low $1,400 or less, but those haven’t had a bracelet (and bracelets are rare because this is the only Seamaster model with the Speedy-style bracelet) or have been pretty tatty. Dealers seem to be asking in the neighbourhood of $2,400.

Nice ones on forums are around $2,100 - which, when I do the conversion, is exactly what €1,800 is in USD.

Fair buy at the number IMO. Not sure on the “I” vs “1” thing - you’re right that most seem to be “I”. There are other nice ones at that price point on WatchRecon if it concerns you.

IMHO these are the biggest bang for the buck for a quality "everyday beater".
"They take a lickin' and keep on tickin'" If you're goin' to own one watch, this it it!

I think they actually used the Speedy style bracelet on a few other models, mostly with sword hands such as the GMTs, the Apnea and some chronographs. The only non-sword hands model I've seen is the 2596.50 Americas Cup Racing Chronograph. There may well be more ;)

All that having been said, imho, the sword hands divers are future classics and make great daily wearers in both auto and quartz versions.

Thank you! I think as well this one is in really nice condition. Maybe it is to close to my 166.0324 in design? Or is it the beginning of a collection from nice Seamasters...

I have one, it was my first "proper" watch bought brand new in 2003. I wear it as my day to day watch and could never sell it. It takes a beating and is great value for money in my opinion.

As a new member I appreciate the comments in regards to the Omega Seamaster 2254.50. It's on my short list for sure.

The I0, I2th trough to I9th, 2I and 3I have the one like this I.
The 2254.50 and the 2201.50, Omega divers don't get any better then that.

I saw one of eBay yesterday with a, IIRC, €2,100 OBO. It was gone pretty fast.

IMO, you shouldn't have gone for the one in your pictures. If you compare pictures to untouched examples you can see where it has been refinished, which isn't a particularly good thing. The one I mentioned at €2,100 was unpolished and a full set.

There great watches. I picked one up yesterday . So mine says hello and join the club. In UK you can’t pick on up for less than £1,300 on average £1,800 with box & papers . A quick check on chrono24 will always help . There is one in a jewellers for £2,100 titanium bracelet like mine. The lume on them is great . Hope this helps FB040512-3136-415C-AB9A-80192CCC8E4C.jpeg

I bought mine about 5 or 6 years ago at the height of the craze for these. I think I paid $2700 for it, as it was a later serial number and it came with an extra non A/C dial and PO second hand as an added bonus. I had my watchmaker swap out the dial and hand and love the look. My girlfriend liked it so much, i picked her up the 2264.50 quartz version a few Christmas' ago. I found a great deal on it through Watchrecon from a seller on Watchuseek named exelonman. He always has tons of these and their cousins for sale all the time and are usually VERY reasonably priced. I had a flawless transaction with him. By the way, i think my girlfriend's cost me $1100 or $1200, although it's the quartz version....still great price.

:) New offer, more or less same price. It's a little newer 2005, including box and papers. But some links of the bracelet are missing (will fit to me anyway).
