Hi Forum.
I've got into watches these past two years. I first wanted a vintage Omega, I bought one a 1970s Constellation in beautiful condition, when it was delivered I realised it was to small for my wrist so I sent it back. I then ended up buying a 1960s Seiko, a cw c60 and my partner got me a moonswatch as a present all of which I adore! But the vintage Omega itch hadn't been scratched. In the last couple of weeks I've been very interested in the hummers! And last night I bought one. (I have read a lot of threads on here about them) So there's my story! But here's my question is the case back a add on? I'm finding it hard to match it to any others online. What do you guys think of the watch and thank you for your patience if you got this far.

I don't see anything wrong with the back case or watch as such, so, my advice is to enjoy. I do like these hummers, many of them have rather decent size for their era, rather good design, and, as far as I have noticed, many of them still look quite good for their age. And I don't think that they are very popular among fraudsters. If I will find a acceptable solution to repair these movements, I will gladly buy some nice hummer myself - just want to avoid the situation that buy a watch, which is not repairable or is repairable at very high cost only. Because of irrational indifference I have zero interest in quartz watches, but I would love to include one nice hummer in my collection some day.

This 198.741 might fit your needs. It’s 37mm without the crown and has a cal 1250 movement

Otherwise, have a look at Geneve hummers 198.030 and 198.031, both have cal 1250 movements and, with patience, can be picked up for around £400-450 but make sure they’re running before you buy. Obviously you’ll pay a premium to get a bracelet.

Yep that's a beaut! I do really like 198.021 it has a nice retro futuristic look to me. But I am happy with the one I ordered. Have you had yours serviced?

I had the blue dial serviced at the Croydon Service Centre, just south of Central London (I did it all by post/email) but the other two run fine.

Nice. Ashamiedly I am getting this watch mainly for looks rather than keeping time but I will get it serviced at some point. How many watches have you got?!

You and I enjoy owning the same watch with the linen dial.though mine has a plain (but clearly repolished) back. Which back is correct? Honestly I' not qualified to say. (Are you thinking about replacing that case back gasket by the way?)

I wonder if this will interest you: case-numbers-and-dates/

EDIT

Here's mine.
