    Hi,

I'm new here, I namely came to this forum because I had a few questions and thought someone here probaly could answer them. :)

I did some research myself and found out this info about my watch:

    Brand: Omega
    Type: Seamaster
    Movement: Quartz
    Cal. 1342
Serial number: 42.559.518 ( If i could read it correctly its so tiny)
    7 Jewels unadjusted.
Year: 1979 +/- 1-2 years. ( Checked with the serial number)

The wrist band has the following numbers on it
    1315/282 3960875 OMEGA.

My question was really whether anyone could tell whether it is a real or a fake watch,
And how to make the wrist band smaller because all the modern watch makers said I need to see a omega watch maker or seller to make it smaller, because they can't.

And if anyone can tell me more about this beautiful watch It would be lovely because i can't find more about it.

I added some pictures for clarity. (Sorry if they not clear enough they where taken with a iphone)

    Thank you in advance!

You can see that some of the links at the bottom have small pins. That allows you to remove links. Any jeweller should be able to do it. I'd suggest NOT trying it yourself.

It's a genuine Omega watch and I am very sure that you can remove the links to make it fit smaller wrist. Not sure why they said it links cannot be removed, but I can see pins on the sides of the links that you can punch out.

Real. Who ever you spoke to about resizing it should not be allowed to change batteries. Any jeweler that sells high end watches should do it for a minimal fee.

Neat piece! Not particularly valuable but very neat. Most watches like this from this era are ugly. This one looks of era but is pretty good looking.

You can set the minute by pulling the crown out to the last click. Once at this position, turn of the crown will move both the hour & minute hands just like a normal watch. The first click position is to adjust the hour hand, it jumps forward or backward in one hour increment.

Thank you guys! You are amazing.
This is my first vintage watch, and guess what more are coming. Just instanly fell in love with them. Had some modern watches but now im switching to the older ones. Yes in going to citroen/schaap its a high end watch maker that sells modern omega watches in the netherlands. I think they can do it. @FullyWound is that your watch? Very nice piece!

And does somebody know the value of it?
Not that it matters because im keeping it because its my first vintage watch.

    Again thankyou!

Vintage quartz watches are not highly sought after. Probably only worth a $100 or $200

Id say double that it IS a 1342 BUT i'm very concerned but also intrigued that you are "Possition two" for wind This is a first for me but if this can be "rigged" it can be the solution to many an expensive push button crown issue...

Seriously i've had 10-15 1342's this year and i've NEVER seen this...

Do we have a definitive quartz omega specialist / Watchmaker son site?>>

Uhm sorry i dont understand what you mean, it has a crown that you need to pull to set the little arm and push and hold for 5 sec and release and push again to set the time. Something like that

it really depends who is selling it and how much you want to do to it... it would be nice to service it first but i would like to sell it for £200 - £250 Ish but for this it would need a general service clean and spruce up...
