Hello, Fellas. Any thoughts on this Omega? I would like some advice regarding the conditions of the watch and maybe a confirmation of the autenticity. Thank you, John.
Well in any case watch is genuine (although not sure about hands but found one with same on google). Case is gold-capped. Condition is used and it shows, and movement looks like needing service but if you like it and price is OK... It's a nice reference.
I like that a lot The hands overlapping the minutes track - which I guess @Rochete might allude to? - is normal on fifties 30mm refs, so doesn't surprise me here. The rose gold capped case is unusual, but as it is a Portuguese watch, not so uncommon (rose gold seem to be much more normal in Spain and Portugal compared to yellow gold, which is more common in the rest of Europe). The caseback engraving is cool, but shows a lot of wear.
I like the case back and I also like the rose gold cap I’d want to make sure there isn’t wear through the lugs of the gold cap - perhaps some photos that show the tips of the lugs clearly would be wise.
For comparison, this is my (well worn) 2937-4 steel Seamaster. Different hands but the dials show a lot similarities:
