Is there a lot of love for these? I pulled the trigger recently on this version as loved the tone and colour of the lume and the dial. Is this a nice version?
Yes, plenty of love for these and other cal 1040s. Lots of information here: http://www.calibre1040.com/
I think they are really beautiful. Been looking a while for one my self. Yours seems to be in a very nice condition with great dial and well preserved case. Nice catch!!!
Much, much love! The design of these is really terrific and a nice counterpoint to the 321/861 chronographs. I find myself wanting one of each of the 176 series... My 176.001 says hi.
Wow @vienna and @ICONO beautiful blue sunburst dials! I think these 70s Omegas are really fun and such a huge variety of cases and dials!
Excellent choice, these are amongst the most beautiful Omega chronographs ever made IMHO. My birth year 176.007 and my wife's 176.001 say hello. Yours is a very nice specimen by the way. X
A truely visually exciting watch. The little accents of contrasting colors. Sunburst blue dial reflects the light in a very pleasing way. Extremely intricate applied indices. Only one knock. The white hands disappear in the the white sub-dial.
among all the 007s here, mine and icono's have the only text "automatic" word located below the seamaster logo.
Remember the one @ICONO shared is a 176.001, not a 007. I have 007 with the OSA text order as well. It is less common on the 007 than it is on the 001. In fact, I've observed that only about 10% of 176.007 dials have this text order: Here's an article I put together last year on the dial variations of steel 176.007s: https://www.calibre1040.com/seamaster-176-007-dials-steel/ Oh and here's mine:
