Hi.. first post here so I hope I post everything properly. I am looking at purchasing a vintage omega, 166.064 reference. Could I get some help with understanding if this is an authentic watch? The piece is currently in Dubai and has been serviced by Timepiece 360. Thanks!

Hi Marc and welcome.

The most glaring problem is the tension ring around the dial should have a second track- this one doesn’t. Plus the seller is asking $550 for it which is just insane considering the condition. You can do much better in 70’s omega’s for that kind of money.
Keep an eye on the classified’s here- we get our fair share of these pop up in very nice shape.

This is a former watch of mine. Gave it to a young guy I was mentoring - as a graduation gift.

166.064, cal 752. Was NOS before me using it.

OP - stay away from that watch. You might not be able to find a watch in the condition I show but you can do a lot better than the one offered to you. At any price.

That is a beautiful watch. Thanks for the advice. What is a reasonable price range for this spec watch?

The best method is to look at the prices sought on Chrono24 (generally higher than eBay), eBay itself (both sought and sold) and Private Watch Sales on this forum.
Factor in originality, condition, service history, and movement shots as well as dial, hand and case shots and you’ll have the price range.
