For sale a nice entry level vintage Omega Seamaster 166.037 in good vintage condition.

I had the opportunity to buy this piece at an affordable price and went for it as I needed the bracelet. The reason for passing it on is that I acquired a few Constellations a while ago and recently added a gilt dial Seamaster. When worn in rotation, I continue to prefer a watch without date window, so this timepiece will have to go.

Please find an assessment of the watch below. I have attempted to be as brutally honest as can be. Also note that I am certainly not the first owner of this watch...

Dial: Lovely sunburst silver dial, with an applied Omega logo acting as the cherry on the pie. The original dial with all indexes, printing and lume plots perfectly in tact. It does have some very minor scratches near the A in Automatic, I have made a lot of effort to get it to show in the last picture. Other than that, the dial edge has some tiny damage between 10 and 12 o'clock. Barely visible with the naked eye, but it is there.

Hands: I believe these to be the original hands. The seconds hand seems short.

Case: Nice fat case with very sharp edges. Some hairline scratches but overall in good condition. Case back with crisp engraving. Diameter 35mm excluding crown, but wearing slightly bigger as a result of its relatively large dial surface.

Movement and Serial: A trusty automatic movement which looks reasonably clean. Serial in the 2797xxxx. Calibre 565.
Runs and winds smoothly with all functions (including the quickset date by pulling the crown) working properly. It is supposedly serviced before I got it, meaning in the last two years. As I don't have any proof of said service, I still recommend a check-up after purchase. I have only worn it sporadically and have not observed any major deviation whilst wearing it.

Crown: Omega signed, possibly original. Has a tiny dent in it.

Bracelet: None. Comes with a rather fresh black leather strap (with unmarked buckle) fitting the watch nicely.

Can be shipped worldwide, although I would strongly prefer a F2F deal in the Netherlands given the value concerned and more importantly, the benefit of meeting a fellow OF-member in person.

No returns, please ask questions and extra pictures in advance. I am not making a habit out of selling, but I do have some - exclusively positive - references as a seller and buyer on this forum and could share more.

Plenty of references here on OF.

Price: EUR 395 (OBRO, net to me and excluding shipping)

In response to a question raised; here's a picture of the caseback, revealing both the reference number and the caseback seal.

Currently, I am wearing this piece to reconfirm it's running well... Well... it sure is. And I think it isn't just a great entry into vintage, it could also stay in the collection as a nice daily wearer. 😀
