Omega Seamaster 166.032 Day-Date: Real or Fake Dial?

I presume my instinct on this is right, but there are so many incredibly knowledgeable people here who've seen way more watches than I have, so I wanted to ask.

A vintage 166.032 is at auction, but it features a dial I've never seen before, ever. On the one hand: my instinct is that it's a fake, given the imprecision of the printing. That said: I can convince myself that, in fact, it's some extremely uncommon variant and I've simply never seen it before. The minute track also gives pause.

So, collective wisdom of the Omega Forums: is this a fake-dialed Seamaster 166.032? If it's in fact authentic and I'm accidentally highlighting a watch others wish I wouldn't: my apologies. I'm truly just curious.

The quality of the dial looks pretty good to me. I'm not a huge fan of day-date watches so I wouldn't have noticed different styles of 166.032 dials. Maybe someone swapped in a dial from another reference.

I do think that the sparkle dials tend to be most popular. Regarding this example, I trust you've noticed the hand damage.

Thanks for chiming in, and I think you're right. The more I look at it, the more I wonder if you're right—but the printing looks later, from later in the 70s, and I increasingly suspect the dial's from another model.

I too am not a fan of day-dates, but I feel like I've seen hundreds of this model (both date, day-date) and have literally never seen any dial other than the sparkle or sunburst, but, again, plenty of people know way way more than I.

I think The dial is legit. The lume on the hands and the dial match.
I think the bigger question is whether the dial is original to a 166.032.

I also think the dial is legit. I have seen this reference (or maybe I should just say dial) on a Japanese auction. If I can find it I’ll share the pictures.

I don't like that dial at all. It could be a specific market special but there are a few things that give me pause about it. Firstly it has lume on both dial and hands but no T marks and that ref is late enough to have Ts. Secondly I can't shake the feeling that the Omega text is either wrong, too thick or later than the watch. In short I would give that a wide berth personally. It's more likely a redial than an out and out fake.

I also notice that the spacing of the printed indices is inconsistent with that of the applied indices (1 and 6 look particularly off).

I just have to put in a good word for day-dates. I really like them, especially when on holidays/vacation or travelling when it is easy to lose track of time. Having the day on the dial has saved my arse/ass more than once.

It sort of looks like a Seamaster 1020/1022 dial pattern, not something I’ve seen before on a 752 though

Dial looks genuine to me but don't know if it's original to this reference.
