Hi I jumped on an ebay auction for this Seamaster as prices are rising so much that if I don't buy now at the lower end I never will. I appreciate this watch has some issues but it's the best I can afford at the moment. I have spoken to Simon at STS who can replace the crystal and crown only. Would they be recommended? Before I go ahead with the work I would like to confirm the dial and hands are correct. I have tried to do some research but I can't find loads of info. The movement is currently running at -28 seconds but unfortunately the back is on very tight and I don't want to risk scratching it. After the work I should be 5200 dollars in. Is that too much for such a piece? Regards

Sorry, early morning coffee hasn't kicked in yet for me to actually read the reference in your title. Dial appears correct also. Bezel is there but worn out. Have it refinished by a bezel guru like Aldo

    Good luck

The bezel is there just doesn't have the black bit. Are STS a good route for the work? Thanks

Btw, @aldo is a member and he can also do any service as well as the bezel restoration. Good luck

I've never used STS but I don't believe they can/will restore the bezel

Only Aldo for the bezel I'm afraid.
Be prepared to wait several months, maybe 12 of them!
    Top notch work though.

I've had conversations with Mr Aldo regarding the wait times on bezel restoration. He indicated that they are done in groups of 5 or 6. At times,he is waiting for more pieces to accumulate. I think average time is perhaps 6 -8 months. I have to send him some myself :)

Good question I edited my post and they have disappeared. It's currently in the hands of STS so will post follow up photos when back

So the Seamaster is back but I'm still undecided on what to do with the bezel. Is there anyone other than Aldo that can do it?
