Looking to purchase an original example with nice matching patina. B&P preferred but not a necessity. You can PM me or email me at: [email protected] I am located in Toronto, Canada Thank you, Ira
Respectable Member opahman Perhaps, this is something similar to what you are looking for. http://omegaforums.net./threads/omega-300m-1960s.2560/ If you are interested, I can give the link where the watch is located. Thank-you.
Respectable Member opahman I am surprised when you asked, 'is it even real'. It is shocking because this watch is up for sale at Amsterdam Vintage Watch. http://amsterdamvintagewatches.com/pr/en/ I did not have any diver watch on offer - 'upset I missed your last watch'. It could be someone else and not me, I think. Thank-you
No disrespect to you of course the patina is funny looking and I read some of the posts regarding this watch
Respectable Member opahman No worry, I am here to learn about diver watches, especially Omega Seamaster, from enthusiasts and experts in this forum. Really, it is not easy to pick up one that is totally factory-original, nowadays, It is either you come across, one that had retouched hands, franken or a fake. I cannot tell the difference and that being the reason, I am relying on the informed people in this forum to educate me, all the time. It seems, some of the reputable dealers happen to be carrying stocks, which make me feel very uncomfortable to wear or own. This is the world of today, we have to be wary, at all times. Thank-you.
Check out the seamaster on cars and watches. It looks like a great example. I was interested to buy it but it's on hold for an Italian customer . Why are you worried about stock at dealers?
The watch is a 1966 ( Identical to my own) glad to see another in such great shape. http://www.carsandwatches.com/?s=Vintage+seamaster+300
Respectable Member opahman No, I have never owned an Omega Seamaster diver watch and how could I sell one? Likely, it could be someone else. There are some dealers who are ignorant about the originality of the vintage-watches, they sell. Thank-you.
Respectable Member MyVintageOmega That is a good one, too. It may not be as good as yours. However this is the best I have seen, outside of yours. It is not surprising, already reserved for someone else. Thank-you.
wow, your's is a beautiful example. Patina is incredible. (when you are ready to sell it let me know Great news i ended up buying that watch as his customer only wanted to trade. Cash is king!!
Respectable Member opahman Congratulations for picking up a spectacular watch and wear it in good health. It is not easy to get a good, clean and original Seamaster diver watch, whether the 300m of the 60's or the 120m of the 70's, in this environment today. Demand is growing while supply remains stagnant. As a result of which, we are presented with frankens and fakes, as well as, molested examples. Thank-you.
Respectable Member opahman Once you have your beautiful watch, please take more pictures of that watch, to share with us. As with regard to MyVintageOmega's darling, very unlikely he will ever part with it, unless of course he gives up vintage-watch collecting, altogether. Thank-you.
