Hi all,

I am back to seek the forum’s collective wisdom! I am considering the following Seamaster 14770. The pictures are not great so I thought some extra pairs of eyes would be especially valuable. The watch has not sold since May so I suspect more experienced watch hobbyists might have noticed issues with it.

As far as I can tell, the lugs and bezel look fine (in terms of not being overpolished). I am ok with the dial (unless advised that the spotting/ patina is too much), but I am a bit concerned about the condition of the hands.

In the third picture you can also see some hand marks, presumably from when the watch had stopped working at some point. According to the owner, it should be running fine now.

Thanks!

It's a legitimate Seamaster but the condition is very bad, the case has been severely polished to the extent that there is a LOT of wear-through on the lugs, you can see the exposed silver base metal showing through the tips of the lugs in the second photo.

The dial is also in poor condition with signs of moisture damage.

Overall it's quite a bad watch that isn't worth buying, especially considering how many Seamaster De Villes in good condition are out there on the market.

Thank you! I am still terrible at evaluating these and esp. lug condition.

For future reference, by water damage on the dial do you mean the black dots (pitting I think it is called)?
