Omega Seamaster 120m f300 diver, model 198.0005 using the 1250 hummer movement. 41.6mm case with original 1178/182 bracelet in excellent condition with enough links to fit up to an 8.25”/21cm wrist or possibly more. On a 32.8m serial making it late 1970/early 1971 production. In fully working condition, keeping good time, fully service by UK hummer specialist Keith Tilley last year, including pressure check, though I wouldn't recommend diving with a watch of this vintage. This is in a rarely seen truly wonderful condition. All original, just a few faint traces of patina on the dial hint at it’s age and the resin bezel insert on this one is very good too, much better than most others out there which are usually a bit tatty. The crystal is unmarked and all the original case finishes and sharp edges are still in place. I know it is a misused description but I do feel It is approaching NOS in condition. One bit of irrelevant trivia, but thought provoking all the same is that when new in the early 1970s, these retailed for nearly double the price of the contemporary Speedmaster Moonwatch and were more expensive than the Ploprof 600m. Looking for £750 GBP including insured delivery within the UK, other locations by negotiation. The sale should be considered final as I am looking to build funds for another purchase.
Great piece of early seventies funkiness with a properly smooth second hand sweep. Very nice. Short of funds, as usual but what an interesting watch. Cheers, Chris
So gorgeous! GLWS. I *knew* as soon as I bought a watch that one of the ones on my wanted list would appear.
Thanks for the nice comments guys. I really hope the Speedy Tuesday is a winner as I am letting a lot of nice stuff go to allow for it and it is starting to get painful...
