Hi, I've just purchased this watch for what I hope was a bargain price.
It's not arrived yet but when it does I'll put up more photos.

If anybody could give me more information or opinions about it I would be grateful...

    Here's the seller's description:

Vintage Omega Seamaster 120m Calypso stainless steel men's quartz divers wrist watch, movement is a 17 jewel Omega 1337 cal serial no. 44566704 case no. 196.0230 and 396.0929 and bracelet no. 1378/389 dating the watch 1981. The movement has been fully serviced so runs great and keeps excellent time, new case back seal, new crown / seal and new battery. As you can see from the photo's there is no rust or corrosion to the case or the movement, so I do not think it has been used under water, it has however not been pressure tested and so I would not recommend taking this or any vintage watch under water. There are no marks scratches or dents to any part of the watch or bracelet, the whole watch is in excellent condition.[IMG]

the bezel isn't right on this watch. It doesn't look original omega style(full min markers on this kinda divers and 3 + 9 oclock angled markers not seen on omega bezels),quality + material made isn't right IMO.

though it could fit an enicar divette style..

Never noticed the difference until you pointed it out.
    Thanks for replying

Does anybody else know what it would be worth with it's current bezel or any other opinions? Will it effect it drastically not having the correct bezel?

I've just messaged the seller and asked if the bezel is original as I was advised otherwise and this is his reply:

Hi Kenny, I can assure you that the bezel is the correct one for the watch, in fact I believe it is the original, after 30 odd years repairing Omega watches you can tell what's right on a watch, if it was not the correct one it would not fit the watch or rotate correctly, the bezel rotates both ways and there is no click, again correct for this watch. I do not know who has told you it's wrong but they are incorrect.

From what I can see on the Omega Extranet, and on the Omega Vintage database, neither the 1960230 or the 3960929 had the bezel that is shown on the watch you bought. They both have bezels where the minute marks are only from 0 to 15 minutes, not all the way around.

The bezel for the 1960230 is part #082ST0041 as glennsim had pointed out above.

The seller saying that just because the bezel works means it must be correct is completely wrong. For example you can put a bezel from a modern Planet Ocean on a modern Seamaster Professional and the bezel works - does not mean it's correct.

I would return it if it was me, because a new bezel is $321...so a significant amount when you consider what you paid for the whole watch.

    Cheers, Al

Any idea why he says case no. 196.0230 and 396.0929? Is it common to give two numbers?

That would be the reference of the head and then of the model on a bracelet. It's a bit hard to tell but I'm not sure about the dial either, seems to be some kind of "mirror" finish ?

I've decided to keep the 120m and get an after market or second hand bezel as I like the look of the watch.

The seller still says it's the original bezel and says he got cousins uk this morning to check their database and they said the bezel is correct for that particular watch model and that it is now obsolete, apparently the 082ST0041 bezel is the closest I'll be able to get for it as the one on it at the moment is hard to find...He also said they claim it is quite rare and that it's actually dated earlier than 1981 more like 1979/80 possibly???The movement cal 1337 was from 1981 so not sure about this?

I've looked all over the Internet and have found the same case and bracelet as well as the champagne dial but I could not find any information or images of this watch with this bezel on it!

Well then the seller must have sold a very rare omega quartz diver with rare bezel, possibly a prototype. There is no parts on cousinsuk search database regard this part. The photos of the bezels I posted are from Ofrei.

    Anyway I saw the ebay auction that ended on 21st Oct for this watch. Some info for the dates of movt;

Well the watch came today but I wasn't happy with it as the bezel looked like it had been painted over to hide all the scuffs, unfortunately I'm sending it back tomorrow for a full refund...

    Here's a few pictures

That is absolutely outrageous, and so pathetically obvious. Send it back, for sure  I would have said make sure you give him some appropriate negative feedback, but of course the problem is he will do the same to you which you don't deserve.
