·Watching the men's 100m final today in track and field I noticed the photo finish info section had the equipment used to calculate the 5 thousandths of a second margin of victory. Anyone know why the legs of runners are so distorted in the photo? I know the chest is used to mark when the runner officially crosses the plane (not their head or feet) of the finish line so that would not be distorted, but the rest looks so odd. Apparently for Paris this thing can do 40,000 images in a second compared to 10,000 before. Impressive stuff Omega!
