Dear OF

I'm continuing my consolidation effort. Up for sale is an Omega 2517 featuring the caliber 352 with excenter regulator. I bought it for the relative rarity of the movement and thought I needed one in my collection. I have to admit, though, that I'm totally ignorant about how it differentiates from the later swan regulator apart from the fact that it looks cooler 😁. However, aesthetically I'm more drawn to other watches in my collection, so it should go to someone who gives the watch the appreciation that it deserves.

Specifications and condition:

Model: Omega ref. 2517-2

Movement: Famous bumper chronometer calibre 352 with excenter regulator. The serial number dates the watch to approx. 1947. It runs approx. 1-2 minutes off per day. Hence, it needs a service before regular wear.

Case: Stainless steel case. The condition of the case is solid IMO without any obvious dings or scratches. The step on the bezel is still sharp, but the case has probably seen a polish in the past.

Dial: The two-tone dial with cross-hairs is in a remarkably good condition for its age. What's cool is the fact that depending on the light, the inner part appears darker / brighter than the outer ring and vice versa. I tried to capture it in my pictures. There are only some minor spots and a few tiny bubbles. The only bubble I can make out with my naked eyes is the one in the second quadrant close to the center. The original radium lume is present in all the hour markers with the exception of 9 and 10 o'clock, where it's partly or entirely gone. The minute hand is also missing some lume.

Crown: The watch came with a generic unsigned crown. I had recently had a signed Omega crown put on. It's, however, a modern production, not a period correct crown. Thanks to @gatorcpa for pointing me to the right crown and to @CaptainWinsor for purchasing it for me on eBay US.

Crystal: Generic with some minor scratches

Measurements: 35mm in diameter without crown, 42mm lug to lug, lug width 18mm

Accessories: I'm leaving brown leather strap with the "croco" print on the watch. It appeared new when the watch arrived and I've only worn it a few times.

Price: I'm asking €1350 (or the equivalent amount in CHF or USD). Free delivery within Switzerland, add €30-50 on top for insured international shipment depending on your location. Payment through Wise is preferred, or otherwise bank transfer. The watch and I are located in Switzerland.

No returns unless grossly misrepresented.

Clean dial, cross hair, dual tone, the pleasure of a bumper (great caliber) on wrist... And a top seller.
If you react quickly, maybe you get yourself a great watch before his wife buys it from him 😀)
