Found this watch and would like some opinions on whether or not its real.

I'm a garbage man and i found it in the trash in a box with 2 other watches, some videogames, and controllers. then house it was Infront of looked like it was going through renos cause there was drywall also in the trash.

iv posted it to reddit with a lot of people claiming its real but im looking for more opinions, i am taking it to my closest omega authorized dealer next weekend.

thanks in advance.

Looks nice, lots of experts here will give you good feedback. I wouldn’t bother with Omega AD they generally do not know much about vintage.

Apart from the minute and hour hand ( $500 plus...) , it looks good. Make sure to take a good movement picture straight from above without your angle here. It should be Caliber 2221 . You might need time to sell it , but Private sale without Omega docus, around $ 12 thousand .

Many are...and from the outset of my Omega infatuation I have personally benefitted from the help, advice and discussions on here, so have always been appreciative of OF.
I advised a look at MWR, a forum almost totally focused on military watches, as when I was looking for my military Lemania I was offered some great advice on there.
Calling on multiple sources can't be a bad thing, surely?

+1 for this. Although I think the most Omega knowledge is here, I bet there are members on MWR that will have useful information on RCAF history and practices.

For me, the biggest downside to MWR is actually getting admitted to membership. At least for me (and a few others who I've seen comment), it can take multiple attempts and several email requests to get things approved and sorted out.

@Garbagecollector Killer find! Whatever you do, do not try to alter the watch in any way (e.g., polishing the case) as this will only irreversibly decrease the value.

Well that didn’t take long…watch is now listed on a Canadian classified site for $20K CDN.

The OP may find that it's harder than he thinks to sell a watch like this. Most likely, he would have been better off taking a breath and learning more about how the market works for rare pieces.

Yes and no. He is not a watch person. He is a finder of things. Every offer is a massive Christmas present for him .... Even half of the listing price will do it. A link to that listing will help some members here to acquire a rare piece ...

No its still in my hands with no intention of selling anytime soon

Good to know…if I see it listed on Kijiji again I’ll let them know the listing is fraudulent. Someone must have used the photos you posted here to create the advert.

The OP mentioned above that he did list it briefly and then took it down.
