Omega Ranchero reference CK 2990-1 was introduced in 1958,

and is often considered the 4th musketeer of the original 1957 Omega professional ‘Trilogy’ which included the Seamaster 300 (2913), the Railmaster (2914), the Speedmaster (2915).

It followed the aesthetic of the professional line with the famous broad arrow handset and luminous triangular indices.

36mm unpolished steel case with a snapback case back,

It mounts an Omega 267 hand-wound 17 jewel movement that is ticking strong and steady.

The matte black dial is in mint condition with original radium luminous triangular indices and the crowd-favorite broad arrow handset, which have been re-lumed to color match (as the large surface area is very susceptible to cracking).

The watch is in overall excellent condition and a truly remarkable example of this rare reference.

What sets this example apart is not only the exceptional condition but also the history of the piece. Noticeable on the top left lug is a Portuguese import hallmark, which is confirmed by the Omega archive extracts that confirm the delivery to Portugal. This practice was born under the “Estado Novo” regime instilled by António de Oliveira Salazar in 1932 as a means to ensure paid import duties on watches, and today remains as a historical reminder of Portugal’s governance.

Asking price €5500
