I’ve just been offered a Polaris for £850, but I’m unsure whether that a good price.

The condition looks good and it only has a few scratches here and there. Been looking at them for a while, but still don’t know enough about them.

Any experts about who can tell me whether it’s a good deal or not please?

Thanks.

It really depends on the model and the condition.

Photo's are essential for a good estimate.

I've got a bunch of Polaris and the price seems high on this one. The more desirable versions are the Ti versions with solid gold interlinks, this one appears to be an SS version.
Also they came in several sizes for men : 32mm (yours), 37 (1/10th and 1/100th), and 40/41/42 for the rare "German" versions (3 hander, DigiAna, manual chronometer). Passover's link shows a few of them.
If I were on the market to add just one Polaris it would probably be a 37mm 1/100th in Ti.

When I was looking for non-speedmaster 1982 birth year watches the Polaris came up as an option. The prices always seemed reasonable, under $600 US. I haven’t looked in a few years but I keep coming back to wanting one eventually.in my current job where the office dress code is tshirt and jeans, I just can’t imagine I’d wear it often enough.

In quartz only the chronographs do the trick to me such as the 1992 Albertville. As a 3hand I would always prefer a mechanical Version of it. They are 38mm dia, Chronometer, in Ti or combined with YG and are not that terribly overpriced than certain other Seamaster models from that time.

Was able to acquire mine some 3y ago for roughly 1.1k€ as a full set and it was in pretty good shape.
