Omega Pocket watch Reface Questions

Hi, I have had this for 50 years, it was my Grandfather's. He was a surgeon in Prague and used it to time his procedures. Unfortunately the face has been rubbed off in parts and new hands replaced.
Can I get a new face, or will someone repair this? Is there an estimated value on this, not that I would ever sell. Thx!

You've asked a totally legitimate question, but it's not easy to answer. There is not a huge collector's market for Omega PWs so it's not easy to find replacement parts. You will have to keep your eyes peeled on eBay. Generally speaking, dials are repainted, not repaired. And that could potentially be done on yours. But ... are you sure?

Honestly, the value is not much more than the gold in the case.

Can you tolerate the dial as it is? It is the original dial that your grandfather used.

Omega made a lot of pocket watches and a lot of them survived. If you鈥檙e patient and keep an eye out you may be able to find another example for sale cheaply that you can use as a parts donor.
