Hi all 😉,

My name is Franck, I'm 40 years old and a Rolex vintage lover and recently an omega vintage watches lover 😀 ....
I have a 165.014 and I'm looking for a 166.077 ploprof 600m 🥰 ....
But I expected to have the more desirable one 👎 ....
So much dials or bezel, so in your opinion, which is the rarest dial, bezel, version ??
MK1 ? MK2 ? MK3 ?
And actually, what is the right price for it 👎 ....

Happy to be here and hope to post a picture of my future 166.077 soon 🥰🥰 ....

Welcome Franck,

As with vintage Rolex, when collecting vintage Omega knowledge is key.

Here's a very good place to start your Ploprof research:

https://www.omegaploprof.com

And here's a picture of one of mine 😀

So 5200€ without the original dial and hands you show above?

Does it come with an Omega “Extract of the Archives? One thing with a Ploprof is the risk that the movement sometime in it life could have been exchanged due to water ingress or damage. This may also explain the service dial and hands?

The EoA can confirm the movement inside is still original or at least from an Ploprof. The case, bezel, crown and button looks to me to be correct and original for the watch.

Can you get a hold of the serial number, this way one can look at least basically that is the movement in the same time period as the dial you have in mind installing.

I think it's €5200 including the original dial and hands.

Congratulations on a very nice piece.
Did you manage to get any provenance from the comex diver?

In that case the price seems to be great for the watch, just go ahead and enjoy it with all your heart. Mine says hello. And try to get all provenance you can get, pictures of the diver wearing the watch and other cool stuff! 👍

I have a Helson homage of the Ploprof. Wish I had the cash for the real deal, it's such an amazing watch. One of a kind case, so brutal and bad ass I love it.

I’ve just purchased (Jan 20) a PP 1200 Ti, because I loved it, I miss having a date, but 8 weeks down the line, I still can’t take my eyes off it. The only time I have put on another watch is to post in WRUW thread.

It does seem to me, however that the Ploprof is like the bastard child on OF, there seems to be very little mention or love for the piece.

Any thoughts welcomed.

I don´t want to start a new thread so I am going to use this one... 😀
Can someone recommend where to source a nice vintage 166.077 PloProf?
I have started a WTB here on OF (sadly no offers yet). And also I´ve checked both ebay and chrono24, but the Ploprofs there are really not the best (either high priced or the condition is pretty much rubbish)

I could have this one for 5 800€, but it still feels quite steep to me.
Dial, bezel and hands should be original. The case was redone imho. Movement is original (the Ploprof comes with the EoA, produced in December 1971 and delivered to Germany) Bracelet is a service one (stamped 59 on the buckle). It should be serviced in 2019.
What to do you think?
