Hi.
Apologies if this is not in the correct section.
I like the planet ocean 45.5 mm orange bezel watch. But don't like the steel bracelet. I assume the rubber strap is a straight swap?
Can anyone help and let me know what I need to carry out the swap, and the best place to purchase the parts. The watch I am looking at has the clear back.

Thanks in advance.
Simon

The rubber straps that Omega makes are a straight swap(even some Speedmaster straps will fit a PO). Omega only sells their straps direct to the public from their boutiques. If you find one outside the boutique then it is probably used. You should also consider Omega NATO straps, they've got many to choose from and have at least three or four with orange details. (FYI: I work for Omega)

Love my 45.5, and it lives on a bracelet. One day I’ll order a padded orange croc strap from Camille fornet (sp?) for it. The 45.5 is a big boy the bracelet is great and helps offset the size. The OEM padded rubber is great though. Be aware you need to buy the strap and the deployant clasp for it.

Clear back would be the new 8500 movement.
Well old movement at this time... as we the third or fourth movement now. And the 8500 was the 2nd gen non chrono. but way to bring up a really dead thread from a year ago.

Any OB or AD can order for you, but check the forums for slightly used. Most will be mint condition and super cheap. I thought I saw the orange rubber one for 125.

Doesn’t include the clasp.

That's not the case here in the UK, any AD can order straps and there are places such as Watch Obsession that actually hold stock.

The current orange bezel is the 8500 movement, I know there’s 8900s etc but for the orange bezel it’s 8500. Maybe do some reading?

8500’s have been out of production for more then 2 years.

The orange bezel is currently 1/4 orange on the 8900 and is considered the current orange bezel.

AD’s wrong. And often watches stick around on the website after they are no longer longer in production.

I was able to get a new (nos?) from an OB last year. I they had one each of the 42,45 and the chrono. Though the chrono was ‘on hold’. I was told at the time that they were the last stock examples with Omaga (presumably they meant dorextly help OBs) in the UK. Whether this was strictly true I can only take at face value what their said. It was said after the deal was struck (with discount i might add!).

I’m considering getting a black leather croc strap for mine.

I’m not saying there are not some available in the chain. Just they are out of production. They are great in Orange. I’ve got a 3313 POC in Orange. And the 8900 is not much different a movement from the 8500.

Nice piece. If you go black croc make sure it’s padded. I’m going orange croc for mine.

I had a 2007 with the orange bezel. I traded in my black bay for it, because I loved the 20mm lug width, and it had a more striking look.
