Hello ! As every one knows , black dialed Omegas with nice patina has been very popular and raised high in value. For example common Omega officer and Suverän. But how is it with the Omega De Luxe watches, have these watches also raised in value or do they have a more steady value on the market? I picked up this Omega De Luxe with original papers. What is a fair market value for this example , and does the paper play a big part when it comms to value the Watch ? I know that the Crown is wrong but im searching for a correct one! Best Regards M
The De Luxe and Grand Luxe have raised in value in the past ten years as long as they are correct and original. Unfortunately, your watch is not. The dial has been repainted in the past and lost a lot of value because of that. Box and papers don't help much. Regards.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I do not want to rain on the parade, but as you asked for oppinions I assume you will be ready to swallow even not so good news. Besides of the dial´s problems the case is in awful condition - the facets of the lugs are gone (polished down) and the caseback is rough and has lost its chamfers...
Ok thanks for honest answer , if it had been in 100 % original and good condition , had the papers still doesn’t helped anything ?
No bargain price , and I’m not gonna melt it ! But I'm gonna sell it as the thought was from the beginning , but with the honest and bad news that the dial is a redial etc
You'll get more for it as a watch than scrap, even if it isn't perfect. I don't know any exact figures but I would doubt there is more than 15-20g of 18K gold in one of those, which is worth, what $400-500 tops. Its surely worth more than that. ebay it if you must, or put in on our sales corner, you are entitled after all. The missing bezel is a problem, maybe more so than the crown as they are not available new. They can be manufactured to fit though.
You asked for the "market price". It´s easy to just check sold auctions on e-bay. If you bought it from a dealer you have by law in some countries and EU possibility to return it.
It was a private seller and I missed the details , can not do much more about that. Probably he did not know about the dial himself and I doubt that he’s in the watch selling business!
Did he mentioned all the defects? And I find it odd that a seller is "private". Just publish the name of the con man.
No , but as I wrote before i don’t think he is in the watch business. And the chance that he knew the bad things is not big. He just sold his fathers watch. He probably had no clue about the dial and less knowledge that also the glassring was missing even thou that’s not a crime to not know things like that. Or he played a good game
Care to explain why, exactly? Because it can't really pass off as the real deal anyway, the font is wrong. And it is just a watch dial, not some devil's cursed artifact.
