Omega Part # for Speedmaster FOIS subdial hand?

Hi there: A few weeks ago, I posted a question about replacing the stock FOIS shiny leaf seconds-hand with a white stick to identically match the other 2 sub dial stick hands (like the original CK 2998-4). I plan to take the watch to an Omega AD who will do it, but I want to make sure he orders the correct part.

Could someone kindly give me the correct Omega OEM part number for the stick hand? I'd very much appreciate it!

    Mike

You can usually find the part on eBay searching for any Speedmaster handset that fits cal. 1861, the professional handset should do just fine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-OMEGA-SPEEDMASTER-PROFESSIONAL-NEW-HAND-SET-321-861-145-012-145-022-3590/192304743372?hash=item2cc64183cc:g:AvIAAOSwn1FZt-vj&_sacat=0&_nkw=omega speedmaster 321 hand set&_from=R40&rt=nc&LH_TitleDesc=0|0Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

Bear in mind that no AD will do this mod for you, and you will need to go to a third-party watchmaker with the potential to void your warranty if you do so. That being said, my FOIS says it's worth it.

Did you convert your FOIS Speedy into an Ed White 105.003?

I wanted to do that, but the case back with its FOIS verbiage not "matching" bugged me.

Now it just needs the dial from a Broad Arrow Replica.

Still interested in getting the correct Omega part # for a matching white stick hand if someone would be so kind.

    Thanks, Mike

Brilliant. The only thing left to do is replace the sapphire with hesalite.

When my warranty runs out the first thing I'm going to do is replace the hands!

I'm not sure that it is possible to replace the Sapphire with hesalite. I think there are differences in the case construction.

There is a guy in Australia that's done it and it looks amazing. Unfortunately it was a one off and he doesn't do others.

Thanks to Al (Archer), I've been able to source the correct sub dial hand. How about someone who can install the hand for me, and also age the lume on the watch to to correct 60 year old color?

The supplier is telling me he thinks I should be ordering a 066pp3922 hand and not the 066TP3917, saying that the former is the "new service hand for the older 1960 watches." To me, it doesn't look like the sticks on my FOIS are different than the Speedy Pro.

    Help!

    Who is the supplier?

First off, the number he has given you doesn't appear to be a valid part number - on the Omega Extranet it comes up as "no results found" when I search for it.

Second, the other white counter hands on the FOIS are the same counter hands used on the current Speedmaster Pro, so if you want all three hands to "identically match" as your initial post asks, I've given you the correct hand. The other counter hands are 066TP3918 and 066TP3919, so 066TP3917 is the matching hand for that set of hands.

Keep in mind that if the supplier you are using doesn't have the hand you are asking for, they may be telling you to use a different hand just because that is what they have in stock...

    Cheers, Al

Al: It's Swiss Limited Editions in the UK. I do want the hand to be the same as the other two sticks.

Yes, that makes sense. I couldn't imagine that Omega would reproduce special subdial hands when they overlooked other, more obvious details in making the FOIS. I never realized that there'd be such a headache in getting a part that one can barely see.

You've been tremendously helpful and I really appreciate it.

BTW: Here's the website. He seems to be a nice guy and does have the hand:
