Hi! I'm a bit curious about some information on this watch. Does anyone of you know anything? Right now these are the only photos I have.

I’ve had a original ‘orange’ dialed Omega once. However, this one seems rather artificially coloured..

How do you see if it is redial or repainted?
Experience. Nothing about it looks redone, it looks to have developed a strong patina. Some suggest it was down to cigarette smoke, some that it was as a result of the Radon gas the lume gives off, others that it is just the varnish deteriorating and/or water damage (see 6-9 quadrant). Whatever, it has no signs of having been repainted to me. The minute track and second hashes look right, those are often off with redials. It still has clear concentric circles in the second dial which is another area that gets messed up with work. There is a chance the lume was redone, maybe with tritium at some point since it seems quite bright for Radium but that doesn't count as a redial.

I cant say I find it particularly attractive, the darker LHS isn't a great look, but its not ugly.

I think your initial post about “not starting off orange” reasonably led OP to think you were suggesting redial

I tend to agree this dial appears to have aged into this “orange,” but I would caution that the photography may have been a little bit adjusted to push the vibrance of the colors

+1. Always ask for daylight pictures from different angles. You'll rarely wear it in a studio, so it's rather irrelevant how it looks in one...

A very good point. It obviously wasn’t my intention to suggest a redial, merely that the dial had radically changed.

It's on a Danish auction site - I am sure most of our Danish members have seen it 😀

A very heavy and even patina. Some will hate it, others love it.
@ABandersen09, if you're going for it, make sure to check out the lume. I recall that it looked quite bright, suggesting a relume.

I agree that this watch had had its luminous redone.

The orange color is coming from the lacquer. My guess is that the dial is original, but was improperly cleaned at one time many years ago and the original lacquer removed.

Whoever did that work either didn't apply the correct type of lacquer or the watch was exposed to some kind of environmental damage. However, we usually don't see patina quite this even and uniform.
