Hi, I recently purchased a pair of no. 6 end links and I am not sure if they are genuine. I put them on a 2998 today and they don't fit 100%; it wasn't easy to put them on; the curvy part is little bit different and the spikes stand out - above the lugs.. I tried to bend them carefully to adjust them to the lugs level but it still looks not correct to me. I hope someone can help me with a quick evaluation.
Hi, the ones on the left look like they might be aftermarket as they have no ridge on the backside. @Gemini4 did a good write up here https://omegaforums.net/threads/aftermarket-6-end-links-have-hit-the-market-place.27177/
Hi Now read the original post in full This doesn't look right....and the slot gap looks too big (deep) with the end link fitted: Best - Neil
thanks for your reply. I have read @Gemini4 thread but mine look different - they actually got a ridge on the backside its hard to see on the previous photos. Here are some more under a better light.
This is one of the reasons I'm thankful for Niel's 617 suggestion, genuine part from Omega, cheap, and readily available. I'm a fanatic in most cases but these have gotten the point where sellers are just taking the piss. -> And they nearly all look flogged out anyway, even the genuine ones (especially the genuine ones), even more reason to go 617s.
Hey Neil, thanks for your reply. I bent down the spikes a little more and now they seem to fit "better"..but as you see on the other pics I just uploaded the gap is still there. I think I will contact the seller and return the end pieces .. something is wrong with them..
I like the 617s too, but they also exhibit the same fit as in the pics above.. they don't quite fit the case the same way. Better than nothing for sure, but not 100% either.
Hi These are a pair of 617's which are work in progress (fitted with a 7077 BCT)....infact since this was taken I have improved the fit & aged the finish further....the results for £60 GBP and a bit of 'fettling' really are very very good: Best - Neil
