Omega News Letter- Confirm Your Email Address......A Scam?

Hello

This morning I got an email supposedly from Omega thanking me for my interest in their news letter and asking asking me to confirm my email address for the subscription. It was from Omega CH.

Now I never signed up for any Omega news letter (I never sign up for watch manufacturer news letters as I find them boring as crap) so I suspect this is a fake email that is trying to get info from me. I made a screen shot of the email and deleted it (and emptied my Trash box)without clicking the link.

So is it a fake email?

Thanks

Perhaps phishing. I always check the address it is coming from. But if in doubt just delete it.

Hello

This morning I got an email supposedly from Omega thanking me for my interest in their news letter and asking asking me to confirm my email address for the subscription. It was from Omega CH.

It would have been interesting to see where that "PLEASE CONFIRM..." link pointed to and even more interesting to see the headers from the email. But absent the knowledge of how to do this quick deletion was definitely the best option. Thirty years ago as the internet was becoming less of a thing for academia and more public it was quite common to maliciously sign people up for things they weren't aware off. But nowadays conscientious operations request confirmation before full sign-up-- not all though :whipped:

I can answer your question authoritatively, but for security, you will first need to send me your PayPal account information, including the password. 😁

Thanks for the heads-up. Even though the spelling and grammar in this case are completely accurate for a change, the vanilla terms "User" and "Omega Team" are bright amber warnings.
