While I have only done it with Maratac NATO-style straps, washing with Oxyclean seems to freshen them quite well.

+1 for the non-stinky NATO crew!
I do find that they tend to stiffen a but with summer wear. Generally soak and rinse with an oxy-based washing powder at season's end. I really like the three in the OP's second pic. Very spiffy.

·I'm looking for the same thing. I have a few Omega NATO straps but I'm having a hard time paying that much for a solid color strap.
