Just back from a very enjoyable weekend in Switzerland, the main purpose of which was to visit the Omega Museum. I thought some of you might enjoy some photographs of the visit
I was there on Friday late morning and it was quiet. Just my friend and I and our wives (who were there under duress but enjoyed it .... even though they wouldn’t admit it!)
Surely I'm in for a OF GTG at the new Omega museum at the new address Nicolas G. Hayek road in Bienne... à titre d'adieu ! https://omegaforums.net/threads/new-omega-museum-july-2019-ready.42424/
Cool pics. Trying to sell a trip there to the wife but sounds like it could be worth waiting until the new museum opens
The only sad thing about this is seeing how they put the N. Armstrong astronaut suit in the center of the diorama, knowing that Armstrong never wore his Speedie on the moon.... But I will be happy to visit the new museum once it has opened.
@snake.doctor The museum knows this and has to chosse between a complete white space suit (Armstrong or Aldrin) or keep a red striped space suit for all lunar landings since Apollo 14 ~ 17 @kov SpeedyTuesday 16 JULY = 50 years since Apollo 11 launch SpeedyTuesday 24 JUlY = 50 years since Apollo 11 splash-down
Today we were told that the old museum will close by the end of mai 2019. The new museum will presumably open in the beginning of the second semester. But no definite date was given. Men are still at work on the Swatch building The building that will house the new museum is still surrounded by safety fences But the nearest busstop wears Omega So if you want to see the cosy old museum one last time hurry to Bienne before May 31st 2019.
